Founder & Executive Chairman, Arowana
Co-Founder & Executive Chairman, VivoPower (NASDAQ: VIVO)
Kevin Chin grew up in Brunei, where prior generations of his family worked for Shell. He watched a single company invest in the fabric of a nation schools, hospitals, roads, housing because that was what was expected of an enterprise that drew its wealth from the ground beneath a community's feet. That childhood observation became a founding conviction: infrastructure companies should give back to the places they operate in.
It is a conviction that has shaped everything he has built since.
Arowana
In 2007, Chin founded Arowana, a B Corp-certified international investment group headquartered in London with offices in Abu Dhabi, Brisbane, Singapore, and Manila. Arowana invests in, builds, and operates companies across sovereign AI infrastructure, renewable energy, electric vehicles, vocational education, circular economy, and enterprise software.
Under his leadership, the group has taken five companies public across three exchanges — NASDAQ, the ASX, and the NZX and originated four fund vehicles, both listed and unlisted. Arowana's B Corp score of 138.8 is among the highest in the world.
VivoPower and the Sovereign AI Thesis
In 2014, Chin co-founded VivoPower, now listed on NASDAQ under the ticker VIVO. What began as a solar energy developer in Australia has evolved into a sovereign AI data centre infrastructure company aggregating power-secured land in Finland, Norway, and the UAE and leasing it on long-term contracts to hyperscalers and sovereign nations.
As Executive Chairman, Chin has led VivoPower through its pivot from solar to the Power-to-X strategy, culminating in a 358 MW pipeline across 12 sites and a $30 million strategic investment from Blue Sky Capital and GCC sovereign family offices. The company's manifesto commits to data centres that are architecturally considered and communities that are measurably better off; a direct echo of the Shell-in-Brunei philosophy that shaped his thinking decades earlier.
Recognition
In 2026, Chin was ranked #17 on the MO 100 — Big Path Capital's annual list of the world's most impactful business leaders. Arowana has been named to the Real Leaders Top 50 Impact Companies for six consecutive years and has received multiple Gold Stevie Awards for corporate responsibility.
