Phil Vernon is a professional director, adviser and investor with expertise in sustainable finance, impact investing, superannuation, credit markets and the not-for-profit sector.
A purpose driven leader and passionate advocate for a sustainable financial system, Phil was CEO and Managing Director of Australian Ethical Investments for 10 years leading them through a period of dramatic growth and transformation. Prior to this he was a Group Executive with Perpetual Limited responsible for their corporate trust and structured finance businesses.
Phil is currently a Director of Futurity Investment Group, Eticore Pty Limited, Beyond Zero Emissions, the Environmental Defender's Office and B Lab ANZ and has held board positions on industry groups the Responsible Investment Association, Investor Group for Climate Change, the Australian Sustainable Finance Initiative, and the Australian Securitisation Forum.
Phil received his Master of Business Administration from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management and his Master of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of New South Wales. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
