Santiago Tenorio-Garcés is the Director and Global Head of Corporate at Arowana. He specialises in crafting strategic alliances and deals for the company by applying his expertise in corporate strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Before joining the team, Santiago worked in different corporate leadership and investing roles for companies including American Express, BlackRock, and BAML. He is also an entrepreneur and operator with startup and scaleup experience in the technology and energy infrastructure development sectors. Santiago values the opportunity to help develop teams―both in corporate and startup contexts―highlighting team-building among his proudest career achievements.
Santiago graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a double bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science (Computation and Cognition) and Visual Studies (Science & Philosophy of Vision), and a minor in Japanese.
Santiago was born and raised in the salsa capital of the world―Cali, Colombia. Having grown up in a family of Swiss-Colombian entrepreneurs, Santiago has lived and worked in cities all over the world, including Tokyo, Mumbai, New York, and London. He sees himself as a global citizen, is fluent in both English and Spanish, and speaks conversational Japanese.
Santiago is a goal-oriented person. To be successful, he believes that one must have the courage to take risks, the humility to learn from one’s mistakes, and the perseverance to keep trying. As his father once put it: “If you're afraid to get wet, you will not eat fish.”
