EdventureCo

Established by Arowana in 2017, EdventureCo has scaled rapidly to become a leading vocational and professional education and training group with operations across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. It is a premium provider of digital, soft and future skills training that develops lifelong learners for the roles of the future by delivering unique learning experiences to meet the needs of students at each stage of their career journey.

EdventureCo businesses train over 20,000 students each year across more than 700 instructor lead courses via online and face-to-face delivery from 13 campuses in Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines.

Disruption, exacerbated by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, is creating new roles and destroying existing ones leading to millions of workers requiring transition to new occupations by 2030. CEOs are concerned about the availability of key skills and see skills gaps within their organisations as the biggest barrier to adoption of new technologies. This has resulted in L&D increasing being viewed as a strategic investment for enterprise and government.

Job disruption is counter-balanced by job creation in new fields: the ‘jobs of tomorrow’. Over the coming decade, a non-negligible share of newly created jobs will be in wholly new occupations, or existing occupations undergoing significant transformations in terms of their content and skills requirements. Millions of workers will need to transition to new occupations by 2030, a disruption that has only been accelerated by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. While CEOs plan to invest more in digital initiatives, they are extremely concerned about the availability of relevant skills

The ability of global companies to harness the growth potential of new technological adoption is hindered by skills shortages and L&D is becoming a strategic investment required to fill organisations’ skills gaps. At EdventureCo we see these gaps appearing across three different areas.

EdventureCo provides skills and lifelong learning opportunities that prepare the workforce of today for success tomorrow.

Digital Skills

EdventureCo ensures companies stay ahead of the digital curve and that their technology does not outpace the skills of their people.

Through its digital skills training offerings, EdventureCo has a large and varied portfolio of over 700 instructor-led technology training courses, delivered to over 15,000 students annually online, in its training facilities or at client premises.

As the largest Digital Skills training provider in Australasia, EdventureCo owns and operates Lumify Work in Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines. Through partnerships with leading global ICT vendors such as Microsoft, Google, Cisco and Amazon, our businesses deliver Australasia’s most extensive public ICT course schedule. These courses are internationally recognised and tailored to the needs of medium-to-large private and public organisations including bespoke in-house developed courses, group delivery on-premises, and consulting services.

In partnership with Aboitiz Equity Ventures in the Philippines, EdventureCo has launched a Lumify Work campus in Manila delivering face-to-face and virtual instructor led training.

EdventureCo has also incubated and is hyperscaling Lumify Learn, an online education arm delivering accredited and bootcamp courses in areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and data science.

In October 2022, EdventureCo successfully completed its acquisition of Australia-based Microsoft Application training provider Nexacu in a deal worth $A19.1 million. The acquisition is part of EdventureCo’s continued expansion of its corporate ICT and digital skills training business, Lumify Group.

By adding Nexacu to its business units, EdventureCo intends to cement Lumify Group's position as the leading provider of digital skills training across APAC, as well as continue the company’s significant contribution to reducing the critical digital skills gaps seen across the region.

Soft Skills

Technology is displacing routine and repetitive roles while increasing the requirement for soft skills such as emotional intelligence, communication, negotiation and leadership.

Through EdventureCo's acquisition of ENS and Plain English Foundation, it has become a leader in delivering some of the most sought-after skills by employers.

ENS, is a global provider of negotiation and influencing training based around a unique framework, underpinned by behavioural science. Across over 70 countries, ENS has established a reputation as a trusted negotiation partner for some of the world’s largest organisations, including PwC, Johnson & Johnson, Adidas, and Woolworths.

Plain English Foundation is the Australian authority in clear communication, with over 15 years experience helping more than 300 government and business organisations to improve their writing using their integrated suite of services including training and editing.

Future Skills

Ongoing skills shortages exist across many occupations in Australia that are being exacerbated by technological disruption.

Through its future skills training provider, Everthought Education, EdventureCo delivers accredited qualifications in the building and construction sector backed by strong industry links and experienced practical trainers.

Delivering training for a wide range of trades such as carpentry, bricklaying and tiling, Everthought provides apprenticeships and full course delivery to domestic and international students. For more experienced students, Everthought has industry-relevant building and construction management courses that provide the skills necessary to increase their opportunities and even start their own businesses.
